Drawing is at the core of all my work. It is research. It is exploration. To draw anything, you must look at it; see what is there – what your eyes see rather than what your experience assumes.
Drawing is the most immediate visual response. Sketches are usually done quickly. There is an almost frantic effort to capture the moment, the essence of something that compelled me to draw.
Drawing is simply light and shadow; marks that journal a moment.
